MARSTRAND, SWEDEN — 22 August 2026 — Northern Light, helmed by Magnus Holmberg, has won the 12 Metre Worlds 2026 – Vintage Division in Marstrand after five days of exceptionally close racing.
The American 12 Metre, built in 1938, finished the 12-race series with 23 net points, just one point ahead of VIM, helmed by Patrick Howaldt. Jenetta, with Thommy Müller at the helm, secured third place on 25 points.
Northern Light delivered remarkable consistency throughout the championship, recording four race wins and finishing on the podium in eight of the eleven counted races. With one discard applied, the final standings underlined just how narrow the margins were at the top.
The championship brought together eight of the world’s most celebrated classic 12 Metres for five days of racing in the waters off Marstrand. In the end, it was Northern Light and Magnus Holmberg who emerged from one of the tightest series imaginable as 2026 12 Metre World Champions.
