Organizing Authority

Göteborgs Seglarklubb (GSK)
Göteborgs Seglarklubb (GSK) was founded in 1917 as a strategic offshoot of Royal Gothenburg Yacht Club (GKSS). At the time, racing regulations permitted only one entry per yacht club in national competitions—so the formation of GSK enabled an additional yacht to represent Gothenburg on the national stage.
Over the decades, GSK has built a proud legacy, competing successfully in both national and international regattas. Today, continuing its role as a prominent organizing authority on Sweden’s west coast, GSK is honoured to welcome the majestic 12 Metre yachts to the storied racing waters off the island of Marstrand—a true theatre of sail, tradition, and competitive spirit.

Marstrands Segelsällskap (MSS)
Marstrand Segelsällskap (MSS) was founded in 1931 and today stands as a cornerstone of sailing life on the Swedish west coast. The club’s operations are focused on two equally important pillars.
The first is race organization, with a strong emphasis on hosting national and international championships. A prime example is the Dragon Gold Cup 2021, where MSS together with GKSS, successfully hosted over 70 participating yachts. Another testament to the club’s capacity and credibility is its role in hosting a chapter of the prestigious 44Cup Championship Tour.
The second, but equally vital, focus is youth education and training. MSS runs an extensive sailing school for children and young adults, taking deep responsibility not only for teaching the art of sailing, but also for instilling a sense of seamanship, respect, and responsibility for the surrounding waters of Marstrand.
